JOB SUMMARY

\n

UT Southwestern is seeking an experienced and skilled Building Automation Systems Technician (Engineering Technician III) with four (4) years of paid work experience with Powers Process Control Language (PPCL); block programming, Siemens Apogee or other Building Automation Software (BAS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS) experience helpful . This position works under minimal direction to provide technical support relating to HVAC systems, pneumatic HVAC controls/DDC controls; design, construction, modification, maintenance, and/or repair, ensuring optimal system performance and energy efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have excellent experience in the following:

• Block programming
\n
• Powers Process Control Language (PPCL)
\n
• Building Automation Software (BAS)
\n
• Energy Management Systems (EMS)
\n
• Experience with environmental control, and other automated systems such as Desigo PXC Controllers, BACnet Programmable TECs (PTECs), Siemens Apogee BAS.
\n
• Proficient problem solver who can apply their knowledge and experience in utilizing electronics, DDC, airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory, pH sensors, flow meters, electrical meters and system control techniques.
\n
• Active certification as Master Operator, Master Programmer, Certified Automation Professional (CAP), or Employment Ready Building Automation Technician Certification.
\n

\n

Work Location : Dallas Campus; assist other UTSW locations as needed.

\n

Shift Requirement : Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM; 100% on-site/no remote work available .

  • Associate's Degree in electronic technology field or vocational school with completion of manufacturer's service course in repair and maintenance of temperature controls.

JOB DUTIES

\n

\n
• Diagnoses, repairs, calibrates and makes adjustments to electric, electronic and pneumatic HVAC controls using tools of trade to ensure required temperatures and humidity to all campus buildings.
\n
• Knowledge of advanced programming in the Siemens Automation system to include complex lab controls, variable frequency drives, and integrated building HVAC systems.
\n
• Performs database management of HVAC field panels and controllers.
\n
• Installs DDC controls, programming, and graphics for renovations, upgrades, or system enhancement projects.
\n
• Troubleshoots programming of building HVAC systems.
\n
• Skilled in programming, commissioning, and graphic design.
\n
• Performs other duties as assigned.
\n
