Job Description

The primary responsibility of this Chief Editor-track role is to attract, engage, and retain the attention of our audience – the decision makers at drug “sponsor” companies and manufacturers that outsource development and manufacturing to CDMOs (contract development and manufacturing organizations). This is accomplished by becoming an established, trusted, and prolific creator of influential multimedia content that’s truly helpful to our readers and keeps them coming back for more. This job is at our Cranberry Township, PA location.

Essential Job Duties
  • Create unique and compelling content – at required quality, volume, and frequency – across relevant media channels. Ensure this content attracts, engages, and retains the attention of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing decision makers.
  • Help us attract, continually grow, and retain an audience of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing professional readers by endearing yourself as a value-enabling influencer in the pharmaceutical manufacturing space.
  • Produce and host 10-12 Outsourced Pharma Live (virtual) panel discussions per year.
  • Represent Outsourced Pharma on-stage as a speaker & moderator at Life Science Connect-produced in-person events.
  • Develop and promote new content formats and products designed to expand the Outsourced Pharma reader base.
  • Leverage all relevant forms of social media (with special emphasis on LinkedIn) to raise your profile and influence among pharmaceutical development and manufacturing decision makers and attract their ongoing engagement with Outsourced Pharma and its content.
  • Attend and participate in relevant industry events with the goal of creating compelling content, elevating your profile as an industry influencer, and establishing/maintaining the engagement of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing professionals.
  • Maintain and grow the Outsourced Pharma Editorial Board. Leverage the Board to provide cause/theme and media format guidance and serve as a source of content.
  • Become/maintain your position as a trusted and revered source of invaluable information and influence among pharmaceutical development and manufacturing professionals.
Additional Job Duties
  • Attend editorial team meetings and collaborate with all members of the Life Science Connect editorial and production team.
  • Travel to events and locations in support of the Outsourced Pharma brand (4-6 times per year)
  • Leverage personal network to connect and promote other Life Science Connect staff and products.
  • Interact and collaborate with the commercial aspect
  • Extract and leverage data to inform performance.
Required Skills / Experience
  • Uniquely qualified to serve the industry. The Editor must be, or quickly become, a subject matter expert, an uncommonly adept facilitator of subject matter expertise, or both.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with a demonstrable portfolio of work.
  • Ability to work on a deadline and, specifically, create content on a deadline.
  • Incredible interviewer who can listen actively and respond on the fly.
  • Can transform concepts and ideas into multimedia content that’s ready for publication and posting.
  • Extensive experience working in the Life Sciences space in a public, market-facing capacity.
  • Demonstrably deep network of executive-level Life Sciences contacts, which can be easily accessed and leveraged.
  • Comfortable “talking shop” with highly technical/scientific readers.
  • Ability to communicate – and create content – using all relevant formats (e.g. online, offline, audio, video, in-person).
Preferred Skills / Experience
  • Well-versed and familiar with content creation tools, ranging from word processing to video creation to audio creation.
  • On-camera broadcast media experience (audio/video).
