Maesa is seeking a Junior Art Director to join our in-house Design team. This hybrid role is ideal for a creative who thrives at the intersection of hands-on design and conceptual thinking. You'll support brand development across a range of aesthetics and product categories, working both collaboratively and independently to create best-in-class visual storytelling.

As a key player in shaping branding, packaging, and campaign content, the Junior Art Director will bring originality, strategy, and craftsmanship to every stage of the creative process. You'll also help uphold design excellence across the portfolio, contributing to a dynamic and fast-moving creative environment.

This role is based in NYC and you will be expected in office 3 days a week, at minimum.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as a key creative partner to the Art Director, collaborating with Designers and Brand Managers to concept and produce impactful marketing assets across digital, print, and social platforms.
• Lead and support photo and video shoots — from mood and styling direction to on-set creative guidance.
• Design and execute advertising and communication materials, ensuring visual consistency and brand alignment across all touchpoints.
• Translate briefs into strategic, visually compelling concepts that meet business and creative objectives.
• Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to junior designers, helping to elevate team output and creative thinking.
• Own creative projects from concept through final execution, balancing hands-on design with thoughtful art direction.
• Advocate for design excellence by sharing best practices and helping maintain brand standards and design systems.
• Stay current on design and cultural trends to inspire innovative, relevant creative work.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong organization, attention to detail, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field, or equivalent experience
• 3-4 years of experience as a Senior Designer or 1+ years as a Junior Art Director
• Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional typography, layout, and design skills across multiple mediums
• Experience guiding or mentoring junior team members and collaborating cross-functionally
• Versatile skillset spanning print, digital, merchandising, and campaign development
• Proactive, collaborative, and approachable with a strong team mindset
• Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities, including those of junior designers
• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute creative solutions from concept to completion
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Bonus: Video/motion design skills (After Effects, Premiere)
• Preferred: Basic retouching and image editing abilities

PAY RANGE:

$90,000/yr - $100,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
