Job Description

A client in Huntsville, AL is looking for a RF Lab Test Engineer that will sit at Ft. Huachuca in Arizona.


This person will support the testing of various hardware/software and they will need to possess an in depth knowledge of RF principles, test methodologies, and be able to work with new technologies as well as advanced test equipment. This person will do engineering based functions to make sure the combined RF test lab executes standards conformance and interoperability certification testing. Areas include High Frequency, Ultra High Frequency Satellite Communications, and Very High Frequency/UHF Line of Sight. This person will offer expertise on RF testing issues/recommendations on testing and modifications to keep the lab's independent waveform testing systems.


Responsibilities:
-Evaluate/modify existing test plans/procedures to determine if existing procedures are sufficient for a waveform test technician to execute.
-Look for new ways of testing requirements to increase efficiency and/or accuracy.
-Create new test plans and procedures.
-Attend working group meetings for new and existing standards.
-Execute test equipment setup. Perform functionality checks on equipment. Setup and configure equipment for new and existing capabilities using waveform specific test kits made up of all test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment necessary to test a terminal's military standard compliance.
-Provide engineering assistance to the test team technicians before, during and after test execution.
-Recommend equipment, facility or capability for upgrade, replacement, or discontinuation associated with the annual lab modernization effort.
-Develop test scripts, programs and procedures to automate testing and increasing lab efficiency.
-Provide recommendations on candidate subtests for reevaluation following a comprehensive review of vendor provided documentation noting RF terminal software and hardware changes that has been previously assessed/certified.

-Current TS/SCI is desired
Must Haves:
-Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI
-B. S. or M. S. degree in various relevant disciplines with 10-16 years of experience, OR Doctorate with 4 years of experience
-1 certification in area of specialization. Related certifications in the area of specialization may be substituted for 1 year of experience.
-Experience with component-level RF circuit characterization and optimization
-Experience with RF test equipment; spectrum analyzer, signal generator, network analyzer
-Experience with automated test scripts and software tools
-Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multi-task, and excellent written communication & interpersonal skills.
