Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Designer

Location: Duncan, OK

Assignment Length: 6 Months (Potential for Full-Time)

Schedule: Monday–Friday (40 hrs/week) | Typical shifts: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Summary:

Sr. Mechanical Designer is responsible for developing engineering changes and drawings for complex equipment, based on limited design requirements and guidance. This role requires a high level of independent judgment, sound engineering logic, and innovation in problem-solving.

You will play a key role in supporting engineering teams by delivering high-quality CAD models, managing large assembly files, conducting tolerance studies, and applying design for manufacturability (DFM), reliability, and safety considerations. Your work will support operational efficiency and contribute to cost containment and product performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed engineering drawings and changes for complex mechanical equipment.
• Create and manage part CAD models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Construct product structures within Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
• Prepare complex design layouts and schematics from rough concepts or verbal instructions.
• Perform tolerance studies to ensure proper function of components and assemblies.
• Ensure drafting quality in all design documentation, checking work for completeness and accuracy.
• Review and validate the work of other design personnel.
• Apply knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and maintenance practices.
• Incorporate principles of reliability engineering, HSE (Health, Safety, Environment), and quality assurance into all designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and production teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Drafting or related technical field and 7+ years of mechanical design/drafting experience
• 9+ years of equivalent drafting/design experience without a degree.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks (including large assembly file management).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD .
• Experience with sheet metal design and piping design.
• Strong understanding of mechanical tolerancing and design for function.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting complex mechanical schematics and layout drawings.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SolidWorks Certification
• Familiarity with PDM systems and version control best practices.
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
